Hi and Welcome to our site!  We are Rod, June and Tim Preston, with lots of help from our daughter Michelle and grand kids Kaylie and Austin we own and run

Preston's Alpacas. It is a small (growing bigger all the time!) family run farm in upstate New York that specializes in raising quality huacaya alpacas and providing exceptional customer service.  Our diverse herd of alpacas includes many colors and many great bloodlines.  We strive to produce healthy alpacas with both great conformation and fiber.

    We had a great year in 2010, AND we've started 2011 with a BANG!  Our full Accoyo herd sire, MY ACCOYO DOC HOLIDAY is making colored crias---dark colors!!  Newest offspring is BAY BLACK with BLACK tips!   Book your breeding soon to bring colored accoyos to your farm!  Our first three cria all being GIRLS, and we acquired three other fabulous girls, so we can put together a great package of alpacas for you!  We had our first full accoyo born here and she's an awesome medium fawn girl with BROWN feet and nose, and this year we've had another full accoyo girl....white with three brown spots...and she is for sale!  We have four or five more babies due in the fall 2011, have a couple of super-duper herdsires for hire at reasonable prices, that are making specacular cria and we are really looking forward to a productive healthy year!   Come and join the fun!

Our story begins sometime in 2005, after years of thinking about returning our farm property to a working state, we discovered alpacas.  After lots of alpaca farm visits, we were hooked on these exotic looking creatures with the thick wool coats and knew that alpaca farming was in our future!  We began to investigate further and then one fall day in 2005 we took a drive for one more farm visit and we met Al and Donna Elser formerly of Thompson Hollow Alpacas, a friendship began and a business plan soon followed.  Within weeks we had purchased our first six female alpacas and two little boys.   The girls came home in June 2006 and the rest as they say is history!  We now count 35 alpacas, 1 guardian llama, and 2 Great Pyrenees dogs when we look out the window.  We have grown quickly and have a full service farm that includes but is not limited to:  animal sales, superior customer support and a growing breeding business anchored by some of the best herdsires around!
